NHS is a student body composed of juniors and seniors that have worked hard throughout their four years of high school and demonstrate the four pillars of the National Honor Society: character, leadership, scholarship, and service.
Character means to have qualities of honesty, courage, integrity, and other similar traits. NHS members are expected to be good, honest members of society, in and out of school.
Leadership is willing to step up and take charge to accomplish what is right. This means standing for what you believe in even if you are standing alone. A leader is someone who others look to for advice and confidence.
Scholarship does not only consist of doing well in school, but deals with having an intellectual curiosity that drives you. Through hard work, you strive to become a better individual that is better suited to initiate positive changes in society.
Service deals with getting involved in the community in order to make a positive impact. One of NHS’s most important goals is to get the student body involved in helping our community as well as the communities around us.
