  • Heroes' Day Walk at Settlers Way Elementary

    • Please sign up if you are a first responder (Firefighter, Police Officer, EMS, Doctor, Nurse) and are willing to be honored at SWE on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 8:10 a.m.

This is not an open assembly (only first responders please), but an opportunity for us to have first responders walk through the halls while our students recognize and honor them.

Please feel free to share this invitation with any First Responders you know.

Please click on the link below to be directed to the RSVP page. Click on the link and complete the questionnaire. It will then prompt you to put in the name of the first responder who will attend.

    https://forms.office.com/r/8n0LLgp9SF

We would also like to honor any first responders who may not be able to attend the Heroes’ walk, in a video presentation for the students. If you have someone in your family that is a first responder, we would love for you to email a picture of them and a brief paragraph about them to Amanda.faulkner@fortbendisd.gov . The deadline for submission is Sunday, September 8th, but I would love to get them as soon as possible. Thanks so much and have a wonderful day!

First Responders risk their own lives to save others. They could have chosen any other profession but chose to serve their communities and keep people safe from harm.

On Wednesday, September 11th, 2024, we will have you walk through the grade level hallways, and you will be celebrated by our students, teachers, and staff. We appreciate all that you do and hope you will join us!

"A hero is an ordinary person who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles". - Christopher Reeve
