Judy Wu Chung

Dr. Chung came from Taiwan in 2000 and later received her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello performance from the University of Texas at Austin. She studied with the renowned pedagogue, Prof. Phyllis Young, and taught as a Teaching Assistant in the String Department and String Project. She was the winner of the 2nd Annual WRR Chamber Music Competition in 2005 and also received several outstanding recognitions from the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competitions.

She has accumulated over 25 years of teaching experience and served at the New Heart Christian School of Music as the school director for 9 years. She has a passion for developing and directing new music programs and camps for the students to reach their full potential, such as Little Bach Music Camp, MAC Camp, and All-State Music Camp, music competitions and festivals.  

Dr. Chung holds professional affiliations with the Texas Music Educators Association.  She is excited to continue the excellent SFA orchestra programs and to help students finding the joy of music making.
