Having taught at Austin High School for my entire teaching career, I find that I am still learning my craft each and every year, honing my skills to better enable my students to reach their full potential. I value what I learn from my colleagues and students, and my goal is to always make literature relevant to the lives of the students who come into my classroom. I want them to take away insight into themselves and the world in which they live in while gaining better knowledge and experience in reading and writing in the academic realm. Overall, it is my duty to prepare the students for their next step in life as well as I possibly can, so I try to lend them what wisdom I have in hopes that it helps them to become better students and citizens.
