What is a Dual Credit course?
Dual credit courses are offered to students in FBISD through Houston Community College. Dual credit courses are college courses that you take while in high school. Since you are taking a college course, FBISD gives you high school credit.
What are the requirements for Dual Credit at AHS?**Please note, this information below may update or change when we begin to prepare for course selection in January 2025!
To take dual credit courses, students must meet the requirements below:
- English 1301/1302
At least one of the following:- PSAT-460
- TSI-945 and Essay 5 or MC:910-944, Diagnosis 5-6, Essay 5-8
- EOC-English II 4000
- SAT-480
- ACT Composite score 23
- Government
At least one of the following:- PSAT-460
- TSI-945 and Essay 5 or MC:910-944, Diagnosis 5-6, Essay 5-8
- EOC-English II 4000
- SAT-480
- ACT Composite score 23
- Economics
At least one of the following:- PSAT-460
- TSI-945 and Essay 5 or MC:910-944, Diagnosis 5-6, Essay 5-8
- EOC-English II 4000
- SAT-480
- ACT Composite score 23
