Coach Sherman Batiste is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended Texas A&M University-Kingsville where he received his Bachelor's of Science degree in Criminology and his Master's of Science degree in Sociology. While at TAMUK, Coach Batiste served as a member of the school's football team where he received recognitions for his scholastic and athletic contributions, including All-Conference honors throughout his collegiate career.

After a brief corporate career, Coach Batiste decided that his love and passion for the game of football had not stopped, and he chose to pursue a career in Teaching and Coaching. Batiste enters his 8th year with the Knights, teaching Psychology and Dual Credit Sociology. Coach Batiste also serves as the Assistant Head Football Coach, Varsity Quarterbacks Coach, and Head Boy Track Coach. Mr. Batiste works diligently with the support of his loving family and, four loving children Adyn, Skylar, Aaron, and Amir Batiste.
