Hello Elkins Community! My name is Matthew Ybarra, and I'm thrilled to join Elkins High School as the new Head Theater Director. I've spent the past several years directing and teaching theater at the middle school level. I've spent the past several years directing and teaching theater at the middle school level, and I'm passionate about creating a collaborative, student-driven program where everyone feels they belong. I believe theater should challenge us, connect us, and celebrate every voice in the room. I'm originally from Dallas, Texas but have lived in my small hometown of Wharton for the past 5 years. I'm excited to continue the tradition of excellence at Elkins and look forward to working alongside such a talented community of students, staff and families. Let's make some magic this year.
