My name is Amy Ackman and I will be your student’s teacher this school year. I am very excited for this journey with you and your child. This is my 9th year teaching self-contained special education. I spent 1 year as a para-professional prior to teaching. I enjoy teaching your children and seeing them grow over the years that we are together. I began volunteering with special needs children and adults in 2004. I have always loved working with individuals with special needs and seeing them achieve great things. In April 2018, I passed my certification to become a Certified Autism Specialist. I am always bettering myself and continuing my education to be able to better serve your children.

It is my committment to you and your student to always advocate for them, encourage them, and ensure they are becoming the best version of themselves. This includes ensuring they are growing in their independnece and academic skills.
