• Social Emotional Learning

Learning character traits helps build positive self-worth, relationships and community in our students. Our school-wide guidance curriculum is Core Essentials. The program is a monthly themed character trait, animal and color used in guiding students' learning, so they can:

Say It, Know It, See It and Be It.

The curriculum aligns with the districts' guiding vision of all students being equipped for life as they learn and live the tenants of FBISD's Profile of a Graduate. Monthly lessons equip students with essential life skills for social and emotional resilience, foster classroom environments of respect, empathy, and cooperation – and set the conditions for academic success.
