Hello! My name is Gabriela Santiago, and I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade this year! I am a proud graduate of the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) and I am super thrilled to be a part of the Longhorn family at James Neill Elementary School. I have spent the last few years working with students in early childhood and elementary settings, but most recently in a wonderful Kindergarten classroom during my Teacher Residency. These experiences have led me to shape my passion for building strong relationships with my students and creating a classroom that feels like a second home. 

My goal is to make learning engaging, meaningful, and joyful. I want to establish a sense of belonging within my classroom which encourages students to become their most authentic self. A classroom that can be a place where they can laugh, grow, support each other, and create memories that last far beyond the school year. 

Outside of school, I love spending time with my mom, my sister, friends, and my two adorable furry pets - Alfalfa (my doggo) and Spanky (my clumsy cat). Whether we're enjoying a game night, going on walks, or spending quality time, those are my favorite moments. 

I can't wait to meet each of my students and families. Here's to a school year filled with learning, kindness, and unforgettable moments! GO LONGHORNS!
