Mrs. Razon-Sacayanan

Welcome!

My name is Myla Razon-Sacayanan. I am excited about being the EL Specialist for James Neill and Pecan Grove Elementary. I was born and raised in the Philippines. I moved to Texas in 2003 to start a family. My husband and I have three precious children. They mean the world to us, and we enjoy spending quality time together. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in education from the University of the Philippines. This is my 20th year in education. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, Special Education (Resource and PPCD) in previous years. I started my career here in Texas at FBISD as a half-day ESL Teacher and half-day Special Education Resource Teacher at Colony Meadows Elementary. I was at the same school from 2006 until the 2022-2023 school year. This year, I am thrilled to continue being a part of both JNE and PGE.

I once read, and I believe that "English is a language, not a measure of intelligence." I am committed to helping our teachers ensure that our emergent bilingual students receive the appropriate accommodations to have equal access to the curriculum the same way native English speakers can. As an EL Specialist, I am here to advocate for our emergent bilingual students and help their parents make informed decisions regarding their child's education.

I am truly looking forward to another AWESOME year, where we all work together to make LEARNING an INCREDIBLE JOURNEY for all our emergent bilinguals!
