Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Legg
I was born in Houston, TX and raised in the small town of Livingston, TX. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a minor in General Business from Sam Houston State University—Eat ‘em up, Kats! After graduation, I ventured into the corporate world in League City, TX, but quickly realized my true calling was in the classroom.
I enrolled in the Teacher Certification Program at HCC Gulf Gate and became a certified educator within two years. My journey in education began as a full-time substitute teacher, working primarily in 1st grade during the fall and Kindergarten in the spring. Soon after, I stepped into my first official teaching role as a 3rd grade Reading/Writing and Social Studies teacher—right in the middle of a global pandemic… SCARY, but rewarding!
I had the unique opportunity to loop with my students to 4th grade, continuing to teach Reading/Writing and Social Studies in Spring ISD. After several successful years helping students grow academically and emotionally, I made the exciting move to Fort Bend ISD, where I’m now entering my third year teaching 3rd grade self-contained.
With 8 years of experience in education, I remain just as passionate and committed to student growth as I was on day one. I’m so excited for what this school year holds. I truly believe great things are ahead for us all!
