Welcome To Ms. Staley's 8th Grade Science Page:
The new school year is just a few days away, 8th Grade Science at the Fort is a fun adventure with a lot of great opportunities and of course, high expectations.
It is always exciting and sometimes stressful to embark on the last year of middle school, and your schedules and classes are going to be a lot different from your previous grade experiences, but we make it easy at the Fort with a strong start in Falcon Camp and our consistent practices in the Falcon Way.
8th Grade Science Units are focused around the FBISD 5E Model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate). Students will see these terms as we headline lessons, labs, projects, quizzes, and tests. We incorporate at least one type of hands on lab each week to fit the 40% rule that FBISD requires of all sciences.
Students and Parents will use my schoology course to stay updated on all activities.
A digital safety contract will have to be signed by students and parents and submitted by August 14, 2024. That contract is within each schoology course in the parent information section and will be availabe starting Monday August 18, 2025. Please do not fill this out if you are not certain of your schedule, schedules can sometimes change.
Tutorial Schedule: Your student can attend any 8th grade tutorial during the week. Each 8th grade teacher offers 1-2 tutorials a week to help kids utilize a day or days that fit their schedules.
