What is Spanish Club?
Previously called World Cultures Club, the purpose of Spanish Club is to allow kids to experience an authentic slice of Spanish culture.
Dulles SHH wanted to establish Spanish Club in order to reach out to bright, dedicated young minds and teach middle schoolers about the Spanish culture surrounding us today. Our goal is to pique curiosity in students, promote cultural inspiration, and maintain this learning for years to come!
Every meeting, Dulles SHH members will showcase a different Spanish culture, complete with a short lesson about some of its cultural aspects and an arts and crafts project relating to the country. Students will be able to bring home their project from that day and interesting information about Spanish culture! We are also hoping to organize one service event per semester as a way to give back to our surrounding community.
Some examples of meetings we have done in the past included:
- Making guacamole!
- Teaching Spanish dances!
- Making Ofrendas for Dia de Los Muertos!
Requirements:
- Maintains a grade of at least a 75 in all subjects—no exceptions!
- Has no discipline referrals
- The Spanish Club will meet every other month from 4:20-5:20 PM starting (October 23rd in Room 333).
