Hi! I’m Mrs. Yang, and I’m so excited to be teaching 8th Grade Math and Algebra 1 AAC this year! I hold a bachelor’s degree and earned my math teaching certification through the University of Houston. Outside the classroom, I love baking, fishing, traveling, and curling up with a good book. I’m also a proud mom of three amazing girls—each one a current or former student in Fort Bend ISD—so I understand firsthand how important it is to build strong connections between home and school.

As an educator, I believe every child has the potential to succeed and thrive when they feel seen, supported, and challenged. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a classroom environment where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and grow not only academically but also as confident, curious learners. I believe that math is not just about numbers—it’s about problem solving, thinking critically, and discovering how the world works.

I care deeply about each of my students and strive to meet them where they are, celebrate their unique strengths, and encourage them through every challenge. My goal is to make learning meaningful, engaging, and even fun, so that every student leaves my class not only stronger in math, but also more confident in themselves.
