My name is Paul Garza and I am the new Technical/Assistant Director at Thurgood Marshall High School in Missouri City, Tx. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre and Drama with a minor in music and psychology from Texas State University in San Marcos, Tx. I also have an Associate Degree in Computer Maintenance Technology with emphasis on Digital Electronics from St. Philip’s College in San Antonio, Tx. I have been working in the entertainment business for over 45 years as both a performer on stage and a stage technician. I’ve had the privilege of working with ETC (a leading light equipment manufacturer), Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Nashville Entertainment Network, Belterra Casino/Resort, and Heartland Scenic Studio. I became the Technical Director of the 2^nd oldest theatre in America, The San Pedro Playhouse (formally known as “San Antonio Little Theatre”) in San Antonio for 10 years. During my tenure there I have produced over 320 shows of every kind from musicals, dramas, and children show’s to non-traditional productions like hosting the San Antonio Symphony or during Fiesta week for the coronation of our Fiesta Queens. I have been teaching for the past 5 years and I look forward to working/teaching at Marshall high school.
