Mrs. Tiffany Demasi

Hi, my name is Tiffany Demasi, 4th grade teacher. This is my fourth year at Juan Seguin and I LOVE to teach Math and Science!!!  I graduated from the University of Houston in 2011. Go Coogs!!!
I am happily married to the love of my life, and we have four children, ages ranging from 22 to 26.  My husband and I love spending time together. Some of the things we love to do with one another is dining out!  Other things I enjoy doing: I thoroughly enjoy puzzles.  I also love my garden-it's a daily project.  It brings me peace, plus flowers make me happy.  Funky art is something I have been attracted to for a long time.  My husband and I have been seen at art festivals in Houston.  It's cool to see things through other people's eyes.  Art tells a story and I find it very powerful.  Art is a lot like my philosophy in teaching...  Art reminds me that we are all different and everyone sees and thinks things differently.  I try to keep my eyes wide open.  Never judge. I guess that is why I love kids so much, because they are young and have the whole world in front of them.
My teaching philosophy is that all students are capable. I care about the type of people my students become MORE than I care about the scores they get on a test. Showing good character and a valid effort is more important to me in my classroom than their ability to grasp concepts for an exam.  I believe ALL students can achieve anything if they know that you care and show respect for them.

I have 2 goals:

#1 My classroom goal is to become a family where students want to be and want to learn. I am a BIG supporter that people (our children) learn in different ways. As a result, I try to differentiate my lessons with different learning styles. The lessons I have created are interactive with hands-on activities that keep students interested. We model life skills with real life activities daily.

It is vital that for the first few days I connect with my students. If I take the time to show action that I do care about them.  Hopefully, in return they will RESPECT ME and FOCUS on what I deliver.

#2 Your child's success is my goal.

It takes a village and YES, sometimes it gets hard, but we all have to work together!

It is a beautiful place and our children have the power to keep it that way.  All children!
