Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Barone
I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from the University of Houston-Downtown; graduating with honors in both degrees, while serving in multiple leadership roles with the National Society of Leadership and Success, honor society, during the matriculation of my undergraduate and graduate studies. I was also elected as a University of Houston-Downtown Graduate Student Ambassador for my graduating class.
I am the first male in my family to earn a Bachelor’s Degree, the only male in my family to earn a Master’s Degree, and I have aspirations to go to law school for a Juris Doctors Degree. I am a lifelong learner with a passion for humanitarian services and community uplift.
My teaching style is rooted in building meaningful relationships with students, providing safe spaces for children to make mistakes and learn from, holding each student accountable for their behavior and limiting the behavioral distractions to foster academic success of themselves and others.
I have experience teaching third grade math, science, reading, writing, and social studies. Being a registered volunteer and student mentor is what motivated me to become an educator. My desire was to replicate the impact I made in the life of my mentee, in an effort to have the same influence(s) in the lives of multiple kids at one time. My past work experiences include nonprofit management, healthcare, accounting, and human resources.
