The Dulles High School Choral Department is intentional about making beautiful music in a way that promotes the development of a strong work ethic in a supportive and empowering community. Here at Dulles HS, we are very passionate about excellence and the importance of music literacy. We believe strongly that arts education and particularly music education is capable of teaching compassion and empathy through the pursuit of creating beauty together. Everything we do is communal in nature. Through this community that we build together, students learn the importance of a caring society through which we can do things that no one of us can do by ourselves. Through creating rich and sonorous sounds and the empowerment of our voices, we learn the importance of speaking up for ourselves and others. Through singing glorious phrases and moving melodies, we learn the tenderness needed to empathize and love our neighbors, especially the vulnerable and those who are most different from us.
