Hello and Welcome!

My name is Ramachandran, and I am excited to continue my math journey with the Dulles Vikings. This year, I am teaching all UT–OnRamps College Algebra courses.

I hold two bachelor’s degrees—one in Mathematics & Statistics and another in Education. I also earned a Master’s in Education from Sinte Gleska University in Mission, South Dakota, and I am currently pursuing an M.S. in Data Science from Eastern University. In addition, I am certified by the University of Texas at Austin to teach OnRamps College Algebra.

This is my 7th year at Dulles and my 30th year in classroom teaching. At Dulles, I also serve as the sponsor of the Mu Alpha Theta Club and co-sponsor of the South Asian Student Association (SASA).

Being a native of India, I began my teaching career there in 1995. In 2003, I came to the United States and worked at St. Francis Indian School and Wambli Wiconi Tipi Juvenile Detention Center as a Head Teacher, as well as at Sinte Gleska University. Later, I worked with Houston ISD, then moved to the Middle East to lead the Math Department at DeBakey High School for Health Professions – Qatar campus. Over the years, I have taught every math course from 6th-grade math through AP Calculus, and even Educational Statistics to graduate students.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family—my wife Dhanya and our two boys, Nived and Navend. Nived is currently a senior. I also enjoy watching expert math videos and occasionally creating my own.
