Instructional Apprentice Positions
FBISD’s Instructional Apprentice positions offer Educator Preparation Program (EPP) participants, including Alternative Certification Program (ACP) participants, with the opportunity to teach full-time for a single school year while they complete their program requirements. All Instructional Apprentices will receive ongoing, job-embedded support throughout the year through a campus-provided mentor.
To be eligible for an Instructional Apprentice position, candidates must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree
- Provide an Enrollment Letter from a teacher Alternative Certification Program (preferred enrollment within the last 12 months), and deficiency plan or an ACP program transcript
- Be actively working to complete all modules and a plan for certification assessment completion Note: Preference will be given to candidates who have completed at least 15 hours of field-based observations and at least 30 hours of program coursework.
- Fully commit to complete their certification program requirements as soon as possible, but no later than March 2025.

Additional Information
Instructional Apprentices positions are full-time, exempt positions and are medical-benefits eligible.
Recent university graduates who have completed their bachelor's degree in education and who have completed their student teaching practicum, but who have assessments pending, may also be eligible for an Instructional Apprentice position in Fort Bend ISD while they complete their standard certification.
