I go by Mr. Sarmiento, or some may refer to me as Mr. "S". This is my 4th year teaching and I am teaching 6th grade science in the 25-26 school year. I graduated with a B.S. in geology at University of Houston. 

As a middle school science teacher, my philosophy centers on fostering curiosity and critical thinking. I believe that engaging students through hands-on experiments, real-world applications, and interactive discussions inspires a love for science. My goal is to create a supportive and inclusive classroom where every student feels empowered to ask questions and explore new ideas. By encouraging collaboration and problem-solving, I aim to build a strong foundation in scientific principles while nurturing each student’s individual interests and strengths. 

I am of the belief that ALL students have the ability to learn and succeed. My hope for this school year is that my students leave my room with a love for science.
