Hi! My name is India Watkins, and I am one of the Resource/In-Class Support teachers at Sugar Mill Elementary. This is my 6th year in education and fourth year at SME. I taught Early Childhood for 4 years, and this will be my 2nd year teaching Resource. I think I have the BEST position- teaching/getting to know a variety of students in different grade levels is truly the best part of my job. I feel one of the greatest ways to increase student achievement is by providing the right setting for our students. I love that my job is to make that happen for some of our students at SME.

My family and I are from Mississippi. Although, I've been in Houston since middle school, I'm a country girl at heart. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University. Axe Em! In my spare time, I enjoy reading books about self-growth, religion, and finance. Honestly, I just LOVE books. I also love to swim, play the saxophone, and spend time with my family.

I look forward to the 2023-24 school year at Sugar Mill Elementary, and I am beyond excited to watch my students thrive!
