AP 2-D Art and Design

  • Prerequisite: Art I, Preferably Drawing I, II, & III.

    Students are required to show a fundamental competence and range of understanding in visual concerns and methods. Each section contributes to the final portfolio score, which is on a 5-point scale.

     

    Student will

    • Investigate the materials, processes, and ideas.
    • Practicing, experimenting, and revising 
    • Communicating ideas about works of art and design

    Section 1: Selected Works​ (40% of the Total Score):

    • Digital Images of 5 Artwork
    • Chosen from Sustained Investigation or previous artworks that show the best of AP Drawing Skills​
    • Written Prompts for each artwork​

    Section 2: Sustained Investigation​ (60% of the Total Score)​

    • 15 digital images
      • 6 Images of Visual Evidence / Documentation
      • 9 Images of artworks​
    • Written prompts of the idea, process and materials of sustained investigation​
