Welcome to AP Language and Composition (English 3) and English 4 Dual Credit. I am excited to have the opportunity to teach you the art of language and the power it can carry in any form.  

This is my 21st year of teaching English. I have a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree, both in Professional Writing and Technical Communication, from the University of Houston-Downtown. I truly believe that it is this course of study that refined my analysis and appreciation of language and how it is passed and interpreted from sender to recipient, a particularly critical life-long skill to have in all careers.    

I love everything about language. From the subtleties of strategic syntax to the infusion of carefully-crafted symbols, my focus is for students to see rhetoric all around them. Language has the ability to bring people together, and in a time that can sometimes seem riddled with confusion, I want my students to be aware that language is a necessary tool that conveys powerful truth.
