Salutations!
My name is Teresa Vazquez, and I am so honored to be a part of the Donald Leonetti Elementary family! I joined Fort Bend ISD in 2011, and it is truly a privilege to now serve this incredible community while carrying on the spirit and legacy of a cherished community servant. GO TEAM KINDER!

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2010. Before becoming a classroom teacher, I worked with FBISD’s Extended Day Program for nearly five years. Since 2003, I’ve been deeply involved in supporting children—as a volunteer, team mom, mentor, and small group ministry leader. I've worked with students from Kindergarten through 5th grade and even mentored middle schoolers. Teaching is my calling, and it continues to be one the most enriching and rewarding journey of my life.

On a more personal note, I’m a proud mom to my amazing son, Sebastien, who graduated from Ridge Point High School in 2017. He’s currently finishing his real estate license and works for a real estate investment company—so proud! He will be 27 this year and he takes care of me now! I was born in Nuremberg, Germany, on a U.S. Army base, alongside my twin brother. Texas has been home since I was two years old, and after living for over 15 years in beautiful Sienna Plantation, I recently moved closer to the country. The sunsets are spectacular!

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me reading, praying, laughing, singing, creating, kayaking, fishing, or sipping a cup of coffee. I love photography, art, music, swimming, painting, designing, books, and all things yellow! Spinach is my favorite veggie, and water is my go-to drink. I also share my home with two hilarious cats, Maybach and Tiki, who always keep me smiling.

In the coming months you will begin to see your child grow and change right before your eyes. It is my privilege and honor to be a part of your child’s education. My hope is to create a learning environment that brings out your child’s strengths and curiosity. It is my heart’s desire to create and fuel their passion to be a lifelong learner. I am looking forward to a successful year and even more excited about being able to witness the growth your child will quickly embrace.
