Hello Leonetti Lions!

My name is Mary Ann Karlsson, and this is my second year at Leonetti-- where the coffee is strong and the first graders are stronger!

After nine lucky years of staying home and substituting as a math specialist, I returned to my first love-- being a classroom teacher!  My teaching journey began in 2001 as a third grade teacher at Boone Elementary in Alief ISD.  In 2008, I moved to Fort Bend ISD to help open Armstrong Elementary as the math specialist. After six years, I shifted as an ESL specialist before "retiring" temporarily in 2015 (aka becoming a professional chauffeur, chef, launderer, and master scheduler at home).

My husband, Magnus, and I are proud parents to two beautiful boys, Markus and Mattias.  Markus is a freshman at Texas A&M University (Gig 'em!) and Mattias is a sophomore at Ridge Point High School.

We are a HUGE soccer family!  If we're not on the pitch watching Mattias play, we're yelling at the TV when Manchester United is on.  Go Red Devils!  When there's no game?  Don't worry-- we're still passionately involved...with food.  WE.LOVE.FOOD.

I am beyond excited to be part of the first grade team and the Pride at Leonetti Elementary-- truly "The Greatest Place to be a Kid!"...and a teacher!
