About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Mr. Kareene Harris, and I’m thrilled to be your child’s 5th grade Math teacher this year. I’ve been in education for over 26 years, and every year brings new opportunities to grow, explore, and learn alongside my students.

I graduated from the Prairie View A&M University with a degree in Communications, and later earned my Master’s in Education Administration from University of Houston. I am passionate about creating a classroom environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe every child is unique and capable of achieving great things. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom where students feel confident to take risks, ask questions, and be themselves. I use a blend of hands-on activities, group projects, and technology to make learning meaningful and fun.

• 📚 I love reading historical fiction and mystery novels.
• 🌱 I have a small garden at home and enjoy teaching kids about nature and sustainability.
• ✈️ Traveling is a big part of my life—I’ve visited 9 countries and hope to explore more!
