My name is Jennifer Kertis, and I am so excited to be your child's kindergarten teacher.  This is my fifth year teaching at Jan Schiff Elementary School.  Previously, I taught preschool at MDS. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology and Political Science. I spent my first years out of college as a social worker in Cleveland, Ohio. My husband and two kids and I moved from Ohio to Texas and have called Sienna home for the last ten years. Both of my kiddos attended Jan Schiff and are in high school. Don't blink, it goes so fast!  My favorite thing about teaching the little ones is watching the awe and excitement on their faces when they are learning new things. I am a life-long learner and still love "finding the answers" and watching my students do the same. When I am not planning or teaching, I can usually be found at Life Time Fitness teaching pickleball.  I also enjoy camping around Texas and neighboring states with my husband, kids, and two dogs.  I am looking forward to a great year and can't wait to meet you and your children.
