Student Transfers

  • 2024-25 Special Circumstance Transfers

    Updated June 4, 2024

All students approved for a Special Circumstance Transfer (formerly known as a General Student Transfer) in 2023-2024 will be allowed to remain on a transfer without completing a new application.  The exception to this are students transitioning to middle or high school. Parents of students in a transition year (fifth or eighth grade) will have to complete a new transfer application at the end of fifth grade (before entering sixth grade) and at the end of eighth grade (before entering ninth grade).

Special Circumstance Transfers are based on specific criteria and transportation is not provided.  Approvals are based on space availability and excludes campuses designated as closed due to projected campus utilization for the 2024-25 school year.  The parent/guardian of any student currently enrolled in Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD) or a student 18 years of age or older currently enrolled in FBISD may apply for a Special Circumstance Transfer to a campus other than the home campus for one or more of the reasons listed below.

    • The student has a serious medical/mental/psychological health condition, documented by appropriate medical personnel, and the documentation indicates the student’s needs cannot be met at the student’s home campus. Transfer decisions will be delayed until documents are received.
    • A student is a victim of a documented physical assault and the student committing the assault is enrolled at the victim’s home campus.
    • A student is a victim of documented bullying and/or cyberbullying which has been verified by the home campus.
    • Other - Parent or guardian may select other if the reason for the request is not medical, physical assault, or bullying

    Public Education Grant (PEG) Transfers

    Updated March 6, 2023

In 1995, the Texas Legislature created the Public Education Grant (PEG) program.  Campuses that receive an overall scale score below 60 in 2022 appear on the 2023–24 PEG List. The PEG program permits a parent whose child attends a campus on the PEG List to request a transfer to another campus within their home district or to a campus in a different district. A list of PEG-designated campuses is provided to districts annually. By February 1, districts must notify each parent assigned to a campus on the PEG List. Parents may then request a transfer for the following school year.

The Texas Education Agency has published the Public Education Grant (PEG) program list for the 2023-24 school year. The Texas Education Agency has identified Willowridge High School as a PEG campus. Students who currently attend or will be enrolled at Willowridge High School will have a choice to transfer to Marshall High School, Crawford High School (incoming 9th and 10th graders only), or Kempner High School for the 2023-2024 school year or the students may choose to remain at the zoned high school campus.  Transportation is not provided to the transfer campus and would be the sole responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.

Students who choose to transfer to another campus under the PEG program are eligible to participate in University Interscholastic League (UIL) activities. Please review UIL guidelines related to PEG transfers at https://www.uiltexas.org/files/policy/SIDE-BY-SIDE_2022-23.pdf

PEG transfer applications are available for pickup from Willowridge High School and Christa McAuliffe Middle School front offices.  Additionally, the application is available under the PEG Transfer Application section listed below. Completed transfer applications may be submitted to the campus or sent directly to the Department of Student Affairs at StudentTransfers@fortbendisd.com

For further questions, you may contact Willowridge High School at 281-634-2450 or Christa McAuliffe Middle School at 281-634-3360.
