Qualification Requirements
- Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing education program
- Bachelor's degree of Science in Nursing from an accredited professional nursing education program, preferred
- Valid Registered Nurse License from the Texas State Board of Nursing. Valid Texas RN license or temporary TX RN license, should obtain permanent license within 90 days. Valid compact license acceptable according to current Board of Nursing requirements.
- Current CPR and AED Certification
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification preferred but training provided
- Certification in first aid, hearing, vision, scoliosis, acanthosis preferred but training provided
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in community health, school health, or other related fields
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a registered nurse preferred
- Possess a strong working knowledge of the RN scope of practice as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing
- Ability to demonstrate physical assessment and intervention skills
- Proficient in using equipment and technology for the delivery of healthcare services
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff both verbally and in writing
