Southwestern University- BA in Communication Studies with a minor in Spanish
Ms. Andrea Stanescu
¡Hola a todos!
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, but my family and I arrived in Sugar Land when we moved to the United States in 2015. I had the privilege of being a Ranger during high school, an incredibly formative experience that I hold near and dear to my heart. I earned my BA in Communication Studies with a minor in Spanish from Southwestern University, the first university in Texas!
This is my second year teaching Spanish at Clements and, as an alumna, I am so happy to be teaching at my alma mater along with some of the best educators. During the 2025–26 school year, I will be teaching Spanish I and II. I am excited to share my love for this amazing language with my students. My hope is that each student leaves my class not only with a deeper understanding of Hispanic and Latin American culture, but with problem-solving skills, increased cognitive abilities, and creativity they can use beyond their language learning journey. I would also love to see them become lifelong learners as they continue on to the higher levels of Spanish, where they will get a chance to push themselves beyond the basics of the language and onto more academically challenging courses.
My door is always open to anyone who has a question about Spanish, being a Ranger, or even needs a person to talk to!
