Welcome to fourth grade! My name is Tanya Turner, and I am excited to be your teacher for reading, writing, and social studies this year. This marks my 18th year at Oyster Creek Elementary and my third year teaching fourth grade. Prior to this, I spent twelve years as a kindergarten aide at OCE, where I discovered my passion for working with children.

My journey in education led me to pursue a degree in elementary education, allowing me to fulfill my dream of becoming a classroom teacher. I find immense joy in teaching and witnessing the growth and learning of my students, especially here at OCE. I look forward to an exciting year ahead filled with exploration and discovery!

I have a wonderful husband and five children -three girls and two boys.  All five of my children have graduated from FBISD schools.  My daughters have graduated from college and my youngest daughter will be in her third year of medical school this fall. My youngest son will be a senior in college this fall, studying engineering. Family and teaching are very important to me. I strive to instill a life-long love of learning in all my students. I love being a parent as well as an educator. 

I look forward to working with your students and getting to know each one of them. My goal for your students is to help them achieve their full potential through positive and engaging interactions in the classroom.  Communication with parents is key to student success.
