Overview of Social Emotional Learning & Comprehensive Health
Systematically cultivating whole child health while supporting and enriching students in their pursuit to exemplify the profile of a graduate attributes/dispositions. Prevention, Intervention, & Enrichment Programs that the Social Emotional & Comprehensive Health division supports are as follows:
- Advanced Course work – Advanced Placement (AP) via College Board, Dual Credit, Dual Enrollment – UT OnRamps
- Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)
- School Counseling, Secondary Registrars, & College, Career, & Military Readiness (CCMR)
- Enrichment Programs – Destination Imagination, History Day, Spelling Bee, UIL Academics, Science Fair
- Health, Physical Education (PE), & School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC)
- Mental Health & Social Work Services
- Programs of Choice: HS Academies, Early College High School (ECHS)/Pathways in Technology (P-TECH)
- Student Ownership of Behavior: Positive Behavior Interventions & Support, Restorative Practices, Trauma Informed Practices, and Social Emotional Learning
- School Health Services - Campus Nurses and Clinics
- Student Leadership, Global Partnership Initiative, VOICES, Peer Assistance & Leadership (PAL)
- Whole Child Health is meeting the needs of the whole child, whether physical, emotional, behavioral, social or mental health needs. Doing so provides a vehicle to ensure students are available and ready to learn.
