• Definition of Plagiarism - Using someone else’s work as your own.

     

    Plagiarism includes:  

    • Careless paraphrasing

    • Not documenting sources

    • Too many quotes

    • Using someone else’s ideas and not your own, even if you change up the words

     

    Avoiding Plagiarism:

    1) Quotes are fine, but the flow of your work can be better if you paraphrase.

    2) To paraphrase: Read carefully and write main ideas into your own words.

    3) Cite first, write next.
