    FBISD administrators shared plans to expand innovative learning opportunities that will be offered beginning in the 2026-27 school year.

    • Virtual High School:Open to 2026-27 freshmen class only. 
    • Choice Programs | Middle School:
      • Coleman Middle School: Aviation and Aerospace
      • Crockett Middle School: Artificial Intelligence
      • Garcia Middle School: Creative Arts and Innovation
      • Sartartia Middle School: Leadership and Civic Engagement 
    • Two-way Spanish Dual Language program | Elementary: Open to 2026-27 Kindergarten class only. 
    • Mandarin Immersion program | Elementary: Open to 2026-27 Kindergarten class only. 

    Application criteria for new programs will be communicated by the district during the week of March 2. The application window will run March 23 through April 24 and notification of acceptance will begin May 4.

    These programs are in addition to our existing high school Academies, our Gifted and Talented Middle School Academy, Career & Technical Education opportunities and elementary premier programs.
