System Components
A local designation system must include the components of Teacher Observation Performance, Student Growth, and a Spending Plan. It can also include Optional components chosen by the district.
Eligibility for receiving a designation through a local designation system requires receiving a full performance evaluation, which in Fort Bend ISD is done through the T- TESS appraisal process, and student data from the defined student growth measure.
Data Sources
Teacher designations in FBISD Local Designation System – Cohort 1 will be determined through the data sources from the system components. Each eligible teacher will receive a composite score calculated from these data sources. The data sources for Cohort 1, and the weight each is factored into the composite score, include:
- Teacher Observation Performance: T-TESS Domains 2 & 3 (30%)
- Student Growth Measure: NWEA MAP (50%)
- Optional Components: T-TESS Domains 1 & 4 (10%) and STAAR Schoolwide Growth Performance (10%)
