• Ayo Fabunmi, Marshall High School

  • Ayo Fabunmi is a senior at Marshall High School. During her time in high school, she has dedicated her time to Marshall’s Air Force JROTC unit, and is currently serving as Deputy Corps Commander. She is also serving as the Vice President of the Academic Decathlon team, as well as a member of National Honor Society and African Student Association. Outside of mentorship, she has obtained certification as both a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. Her favorite memory from mentorship has to be the ROPES day for the GT Mentorship, as that was the first day she got to know her cohort. In the fall, Ayo plans on going to Texas A&M to pursue a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Overall, the biggest lesson learned for her was to take pride in one’s own accomplishments, even when they don’t look like much at first glance.

“Each day means a new twenty-four hours. Each day means everything's possible again. You live in the moment, you die in the moment, you take it all one day at a time.” -Daniel Wing, Legend
