FBISD teachers honored by the Astros
Fort Bend ISD (Sept 5, 2024) – Three FBISD teachers were recently honored by the Houston Astros in a pregame presentation after they were selected as 2024 Honeywell Robotics & Coding Hall of Fame Teachers.
The educators are Clements High School’s Daniel Doremus, Fort Settlement Middle School’s Forrest Peugnet and Sullivan Elementary School’s Nelly Cervantes.
They were among seven other Houston area teachers who each received $2,000 grants, presented by Honeywell representatives at the August 31st home game against the Royals.
This was the third year that the Astros Foundation and Honeywell have partnered to recognize local teachers who demonstrate commitment and excellence to education through robotics, coding, and general STEM education.
It was a great night for our FBISD teachers and their peers from other districts who stayed after the presentation to enjoy the game with family and friends, courtesy of the Astros. The team beat the Royals 5-2.
