Jerrold Smith is in his 19th year as an educator and joined Ridge Point High School in 2017. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa and a master’s degree in Education from the University of Houston Victoria. Smith was born and raised in Tyler before moving to Houston, where his family decided to move for more opportunities in the field of education.

Smith comes from a family of educators. His mother was a high school math teacher and his father was a high school English teacher. He started his career as a long term substitute in 2001 at Travis High School and decided to make it a full time career. He enjoys working with students in schools because it provides him with the opportunity to make an impact on lives that reach far beyond the neighborhood and the community.
