Dr. Kellie Issac

I began my educational career in FBISD as an Aquatic Science and Biology teacher at Austin High School in 1996. Since then, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including Lead Counselor at both Austin and Travis High School, Assistant Principal at Crockett Middle School, Assistant Director of the Extended Learning Department, and Assistant Principal at Cornerstone Elementary.

I earned my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston, a Master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Houston–Victoria, and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology and Chemistry from Texas State University. In addition, I hold a certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard and a business certificate from the Rice University Educational Entrepreneurship Program.

I love the creativity that elementary learning inspires and truly enjoy working with such eager, curious students. My goal is to help foster a school environment where every child feels safe, supported, and successful. At my core, I am—and will always be—a teacher, and I believe it is the greatest profession in the world. As a Texas Master Gardener, I especially enjoy teaching children the joys of gardening and connecting with nature.

I wholeheartedly believe in servant leadership, and I encourage you to reach out if I can ever support you or your child. Settlers Way is a wonderfully supportive community, and I am proud to be a part of it. I look forward to an amazing year ahead!

Ms. Shannon Reese

My name is Shannon Reese, and it is truly an honor to serve this incredible school community.

I am proud to bring 23 years of experience in education, having taught 4th grade for six years, 3rd grade for one year, and spending the past 16 years in educational leadership. Throughout my career, my greatest motivation has always been my love for children—watching them grow, learn, and achieve their goals is what drives my work every day.

My experience at Settlers Way Elementary has been nothing short of a blessing. I am grateful to work alongside such talented, skilled, and dedicated educators and staff, and to be part of a wonderful community that partners closely with our school. Together, we share a commitment to nurturing our students and helping them reach their full potential, truly making our children great, together.

I look forward to another amazing year of learning, growth, and success!
