Welcome to Health at Garcia, taught by Coach Yirgu.  I have been teaching since 2008 and teaching Health classes since 2012, with all of those years in Fort Bend ISD.

In this class, we will be covering many different topics about health and safety, such as Physical health, Mental/Emotional health, Social health, nutrition, substance use & addiction, and more.  If any of you ever have a question, you can always send me a message in schoology or through traditional email.  My email and work extension are listed on my course information sheet, which will be in the Health resources tab on this website and the parent resources and course information folders on schoology.

I am a graduate of the University of Houston where I majored in education. In addition to teaching 7th grade Health, I am the PE/Health Department Head as well as the Boys' Athletic Coordinator and will be coaching Football & Tennis this year.
