• Goal: Promote an understanding and appreciation of African American cultures.  

    Background: The ACHS Black Excellence Club (BEC) is the first student organizations of its kind created during the schools 2nd year 2024-25.  Student Lauren Turner Walker is the club founder.  Mrs. Varghese sponsors the club with the assistance of School Counselor Mrs. Crockett as the Co-Sponsor, with meetings taking place monthly.   

    Membership: This is a casual recreational club open to the entire student population; there are no requirements for membership other than an general  interest in African American cultures.

    Activities: The club will meet monthly  (3 pm - 4 pm) and has one or more student facilitators.  They begin the meeting by presenting their chosen country, typically the one which they have interest in.  Afterwards, snacks from the country are provided, followed by a traditional game or other activity.
