Hi!

I am Alicia Henley, the kindergarten teacher at Blue Ridge Elementary. I am Super Excited that I will be your child's kindergarten teacher this school year. I am from Chicago, Ill. I attended Grambling State University in Louisiana, where I received a B.A. in Mass Communication(Journalism/Radio&T.V. Broadcasting). I am a member of the Phenomenal Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.  I taught high school ELA for Chicago Public Schools. I have also taught elementary and middle school (6th, 7th, & 8th) English in Louisiana. I have been an educator and working in education for over 15 years. 

I moved to Houston in 2018 and worked for FBISD as a Para. My first teaching assignment was here at Blue Ridge Elementary. This will be my second year teaching kindergarten and working for FBISD. 

I am the mother of two beautiful & bright daughters Nevaeh & Sarai, and one amazingly awesome son, Malachi.

I want and need 100% involvement from my parents, and LOVE those who put their child's education first. This will be a challenging yet great year as we make this journey through online learning. Support from families is key and an essential component in your child's educational career.
