    About the Nurse

Hello!  My name is Liliana Lopez, and I am a school nurse at Heritage Rose Elementary. I have been a Registered Nurse for 10 years. For 8 years, I worked in Mexico with pediatric patients in the specialty of Oncology children. Here in the United States, I worked in healthcare taking care of pediatric patients in-home. I was born and raised in Queretaro, Mexico and have lived in the Houston area for a few years.  I like to listen to music and spend time with my family. I have teamed up with two awesome clinic assistants, Carmen Maciel and Leurisa Watson, and we have created a good working environment. They provide excellent care for the students of Heritage Rose.

Let's have a wonderful and invigorating New School Year!!

    Clinic Announcements

Vision, Hearing, Height and Weight Screens

Each year, it is required that students in pre-k, kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 5th grade, and students who are newly enrolled in the district undergo vision and hearing screens as well as a check of their height and weight. Only a check of height and weight is performed on students in the 2nd grade and 4th grade. For students who do not pass a vision or hearing screen on the first attempt, a second attempt is made and, if the student again does not pass, a referral letter is sent home with the student to encourage the parent/guardian to take the student to a physician for further assessment. If you receive a referral letter pertaining to vision or hearing results for your child, please return the indicated portion of the referral letter to the clinic after your child has been seen by a physician. Our utmost priority is to ensure that our students can see and hear to the best of their ability, as this will indeed affect their classroom performance.

    Immunizations

Each year, it is required that all students have updated immunization records on file with the clinic. For students who do not have complete records or are thought to be missing immunizations, a letter will be sent home with the student. It is encouraged the parent/guardian confirms with the physician and provides any updates to the records. If your student receives vaccinations during the school year, please provide the updated immunization records to the clinic. Affidavits for Exemption must be filled out entirely, signed by the parent/guardian, and notarized. The original affidavit must be kept on file in the clinic. Affidavits expire and must be renewed every 2 years.
