The goal of Energy Management is to develop Fort Bend ISD into the leading district for efficient and sustainable energy use, and to promote the importance of exceptional energy management for the economic, social and environmental well-being of its students and employees.

On October 23, 2017 the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees approved the District Energy Plan setting into place the long range strategies for reducing energy use in the District. Key points in the plan are:
- The District will create a district-wide Energy Committee made up of teachers, staff, students, board members and community members.
- The District will create student-led sustainability teams.
- Room occupants should ensure lighting is off when room is unoccupied.
- District setpoints will be 69 degrees for heating and 74 degrees for cooling.

The District is an active participant in Energy Star.

Energy Management encourages power setbacks during extended breaks when facilities are unoccupied to support Fort Bend ISD’s commitment to efficiency, sustainability, and fiscal responsibility.
