Hello! My name is Maria Carrillo, and I am so excited to be your child's 2nd grade Math and Science teacher. I am a first-generation graduate from the University of St. Thomas, where I received my Bachelor's in Education. I was born in California, but my family moved down to Texas in 2005 and since then we have remained in the area. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, singing and playing guitar and piano, going to the movies, swimming, and watching T.V. shows. I also work in youth ministry at my church, where I work with 6th-12th grade students, and it is such a joy. I love working with youth of all ages and am a big believer in the impact of being present  to all and making a difference even in the smallest ways. I am passionate about teaching and cannot wait to share that with my students and their families. Looking forward to a great school year!
