Hi! My name is Mrs. Banks, and welcome to 2nd Grade Math/Science!

This is my first year at James Patterson Elementary School. I have been teaching for 27 years, 30 if you count long-term substitute teaching, in public education. This profession is like no other; inspiring learners to be all that they can be is rewarding. 

Our classroom motto is: Everyone can Learn if given the Opportunity! Knowledge is Power!

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas (South Park). I have been married for over 25 years to the love of my life, Marcus. We have three children, and all of them are grown, and two grandchildren: Navia, Eric, and Marche. I love my grandsons, KaDarius, a college student, and KaMarion, an 11th grader. I attended Houston I.S.D. schools. Recently, I graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX., with my third Master's in Counseling and Development. Additionally, I graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a double Master's in Educational Administration and Counseling. My undergraduate degree is from Texas Southern University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Affairs/Administration of Justice. 

I am looking forward to an exciting 2025-2026 school year at Patterson Elementary School! Go Panthers!!!!
