Welcome to Kindergarten!

My name is Ms. Hanks and I will be teaching kindergarten again this year. This will be my 6th year with FBISD and 9th year as an educator. I graduated from high school in  HISD, and I was blessed to be a graduate of a HBCU - Texas Southern University. It was there that I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and double minor in Sociology and Early Childhood Education. As a highly trained educator, my credentials include me being certified as GT, ESL and SPED qualified.

I am very involved at DES, and I am also a Coach for our Lil Viking Cheer Squad. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, fishing, and traveling.

This will be a great year for new beginnings, and I am eager to make a huge impact on my students at DES.

I look forward to creating a safe, stimulating, fun, and rigorous educational environment where students can be confident to collaborate, take risks, participate in various technology integration activities and engage in meaningful learning.
