Miss Sofia Moran
My Name is Sofia Moran.
I am originally from Guatemala, in Central America, and I moved to the United States in 1994. I attended Westbury High School and earned two Associate Degrees: one in Broadcasting Technology and the other in Early Childhood Development. I double-majored in college and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University (Go Lumberjacks!) with two degrees, Human Sciences and Education, with a minor in Child Development. This year I completed my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with a minor in Technology from Texas A&M University.
I began my career in education in 2004, volunteering for a local charter school’s after-school program. Soon after, I received a job offer as an interventionist, working with small groups. A year later, I began collaborating with the 21st Century CASE Enrichment After-School Program as an assistant coordinator. I also worked in administration as an executive assistant, and after four years, I got my own classroom. I truly enjoy working with children and watching them grow and develop at each stage. As an educator, I believe I am not only responsible for their academic growth, but I also have the privilege of contributing to their emotional, social, physical, and intellectual achievements.
This year (2025-2026), I am teaching 4th Grade Self-Contained Dual Language Program, and I am excited about the growth my students will experience. I wish everyone a wonderful school year!
